USAGE
Trombo is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist indicated for the treatment of:
• Thrombocytopenia in adults with chronic liver disease who are planning surgery.
• Thrombocytopenia in adult patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenia who have had an inadequate response to prior therapy.

Composition:

Indications:
Trombo is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist indicated for the treatment of:
• Thrombocytopenia in adults with chronic liver disease who are planning surgery.
• Thrombocytopenia in adult patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenia who have had an inadequate response to prior therapy.


Dosage:
• Take tablets orally with food.
• Chronic liver disease: Dosage is based on platelet count (see table below) Dosing should begin 10-13 days prior to plan procedure. The patient should undergo their procedure 5-8 days after last dose of Trombo.

• Chronic Immune Thrombocytopenia: start dosing at 20mg (1 tablet) once daily. Adjust dosing or dosing frequency rate to maintain a platelet count greater than or equal to 50 x 109 / L. Do not exceed 40mg a day or follow a physician’s advice.


Contraindications:
• Pregnant and Lactating women.


Warnings:
• Thrombotic/ thromboembolic complications: Trombo is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist that has been associated with thrombotic and thromboembolic complications in patients with chronic liver disease or chronic immune thrombocytopenia.
• Monitor platelet counts. Look for signs and symptoms of thromboembolic events and initiate treatment promptly.
• Using this drug during pregnancy may harm the fetus, do not use while breastfeeding.


Adverse Effects:
In patients with chronic liver disease, the most common adverse reactions (≥3%) were pyrexia, abdominal pain, nausea, headache, fatigue and peripheral edema.


Dosage form: White tablet.


Expiry date:  24 months after date of manufacture.


Packaging:
• 10 tablets/ blister pack, 3 blisters/box.


Storage:
• Store in the original container.
• Store under 25ᵒC, protected from moisture and direct sunlight away from children.
