On November 25, 2023, the first Vientiane International Cardiovascular Disease Academic Exchange was hosted by the Ministry of Health of Laos and co-organized by the 103 Hospital of the Lao People’s Army General Hospital, the ninth batch of Chinese People’s Liberation Army Medical Aid Team to Laos and Lao United Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The VICC was held grandly in Vientiane. Representatives including Senior Colonel Li Bing, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Health and Defense Attaché of the Embassy in Laos, President Savinsay of 103 Hospital, President of 150 Hospital and Mahoso Hospital attended the meeting.
This conference attracted medical experts, researchers and industry elites from all over the world, including China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Canada, as well as from 103 Hospital, Mahoso Hospital, 150 Hospital, Sesettha Hospital, Lao Ministry of Public Security There are about 200 colleagues in the cardiovascular medicine departments of more than 10 hospitals directly affiliated to the hospital and children’s hospitals. At the meeting, the latest research results, innovative technologies and treatment methods in the field of cardiovascular diseases were discussed.
At the opening ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Health expressed warm congratulations on the convening of this academic conference, and combined with the epidemiological characteristics of cardiovascular disease in Laos, he said that cardiovascular disease is the main cause of death from chronic diseases in Laos and has great influence on the national economy and society of Laos. This has caused a huge burden. The convening of this conference will become a milestone in the development of cardiovascular medicine in Laos, will greatly promote the development of cardiovascular medicine in Laos, and provide more and more effective management solutions for patients with cardiovascular disease.
